How certain are we that the gig in Hide Park is a nod to Woodstock? London itself (to which Ankh-Morpork owes more than a nod) has its own Hyde Park which has itself hosted some of the most famous concerts in the history of rawk an' rowl ... --Lias Bluestone (talk) 19:25, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Well, about a certain as we can be of most annotations. Almost any big-city park has had concerts, but the paradigm of the big, famous, mostly free outdoor concert was at Max Yasgur's farm in the vicinity of Woodstock, NY. It wasn't even first, but it's what the world thinks of. --Old Dickens (talk) 20:27, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- I get your point, but TP was British, and we Brits would in fact be more familiar with the Hyde Park concerts than Woodstock, on the grounds that many more of us went to Hyde Park than to Woodstock. I think that, especially considering the name of the park, it is highly likely that pTerry had Hyde Park in mind. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he actually went to one or more of the Hyde Park gigs. It's an avenue worth researching. I'll see what I can do. --Lias Bluestone (talk) 07:21, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
