Count Henning von überwald is an old man living in the von Überwald Mansion in Ankh-Morpork. His condition is not very good, he is in a wheelchair and he spends most of his time in the conservatory of the mansion to keep his temperature. The count first talks to Inspector Lewton when he is in the mansion, and tells him to keep him informed about the Mundy case. He was a good friend of his driver, Regin, and when he goes missing, he tells Lewton to find out about him. Later in the game, the count's condition gets worse and worse, and Lewton can see Death waiting for him to die at his side. The count finaly dies during a tremor caused by the summoning of Nylonathatep, but left instructions to his butler to pay Lewton through the case and allow him to use the Libraris Apocrypha further.
