Of the Twilight the Darkness is a goblin who appears in Raising Steam. In the previous book Snuff goblins finally gained human rights, demonstrating a gift for music and artistry (see Tears of the Mushroom) as well as an aptitude for clacks-tower mechanics. In this subsequent book, goblins show an aptitude for the mechanics of steam engines. Of the Twilight the Darkness is first among goblins in the steam-engine industry.

He helps Moist von Lipwig bring Goblin refugees from the Quirmian maquis to Ankh Morpork. Moist thinks of him as a goblinoid version of himself, helping build the Goblins' underground train system. He is also a "Shamgog"(Goblin Shaman) and feeds Moist various potions, as well as excellent coffee.
