Ah. The phrase banging the rocks together, guys is a sort of homage to Douglas Adams, who uses it in h2g2. There's a scene where Zaphod Beeblebrox is watching the interstellar TV news, (which is even more moronically banal than the news bulletins on BBC3), and the newsreader signs on with "A great big "Hi" to all intelligent lifeforms out there, and as for the rest of you, the secret is to keep banging the rocks together, guys!"
AS TP specifically says that the human race was still in the stone age at the time the Creapii were colonising the stars, nodding in the direction of the Douglas Adams line felt right. Especially since, in both Strata and Dark Side, TP occasionally hints at a familiarity with Douglas Adams' masterwork! I wondered if the possible reference to the Hitch-Hikers Guide merited an Annotation, but it didn't seem nearly conclusive enough, so I wrote it into the entry to see if anyone else picked up on it. --AgProv 20:32, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
He's right, though. The "guys" needs this explanation or it looks goofy. --Old Dickens 21:19, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
