The only hermit named as such features in Snuff. He is a resident of the Ramkin property Crundells' grounds, more specifically a grotto built for the purpose by Mad Jack Ramkin. He practices celibacy, apart from on his holidays, as did his father and his grandfather before him. The skulls of his forebears also reside here (apart from where they go missing). His main feature is a huge, overgrown beard. Oh, and he smells, due to being not allowed to bathe. He apparently lives on geraniums.
He encounters Samuel Vimes when he visits the property.
