I've always felt that the Twurp's quote was a bit of disinformation, but if accurate, it's a strong argument against Vetinari being the Patrician celebrating his tenth anniversary the previous year. Then we have to suppose he had a very extended Grand Sneer to fill in the previous decade. It may have been prudent to get out of town for a while after Snapcase's remark about promising young assassins at the end of Night Watch. --Old Dickens 15:00, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
