The reference to Unity Mitford is correct. However, the accompanying reference to Nancy Mitford is not. Nancy was a political moderate, not a Communist. There was another Mitford sister (Jessica?) who was the family Communist, but she is not name-dropped in the Fifth Elephant. So the annotation should only reference Unity as an allusion to Unity Mitford, the fascist sympathizer. |

Unity and Nancy Mitford
The reference to Unity Mitford is correct. However, the accompanying reference to Nancy Mitford is not. Nancy was a political moderate, not a Communist. There was another Mitford sister (Jessica?) who was the family Communist, but she is not name-dropped in the Fifth Elephant. So the annotation should only reference Unity as an allusion to Unity Mitford, the fascist sympathizer.
