Doc Pseudopolis is a Past President of the Gamblers' Guild. Known for his poker face and inscrutable demeanour, he wouldn't give you a straight answer to the time of day, or, as mentioned in Feet of Clay, the century. One of those crucial things your father was supposed to tell you before he died was never to play cards with a man named Doc. Many have also been warned not to gamble with a man named after a city. Doc always seems to find enough of those who haven't heard either injunction to get up a game.
