Quarney and his wife run the general stores in Lancre, where they insist that business is terrible. Nevertheless, they are frequently pressed into service by Nanny Ogg to extend credit to new widows or others who are having a worse time of it.
During the events of Maskerade we are told that his daughter, Bonnie Quarney, had been gathering nuts in May with William Simple, and it was only because she'd thought ahead and taken a little advice from Nanny Ogg that she wouldn't be bearing Fruit in February.
