Zebbo Mooty

Zebbo Mooty, Thief Third Class, was at work one night in Guards! Guards! when he became the first person in Ankh-Morpork to see the dragon. He was also the first person to be flamed and killed by the dragon, so he derived little comfort from knowing this. For Mooty had been out thieving in the middle of a rainstorm, which was keeping many people inside and causing him to be down on his quota, which lead to him being a little less cautious than he should have been.

A fortune-teller once told him that he would die in his bed, surrounded by grieving great-grandchildren. When Mooty demanded an explanation for this, Death merely replied I think she was wrong...
