Water Street Bath-House

This facility is to be found at 34 Water Street, almost at its junction with Hopesprings. It is unclear how much business the bath house does in a city where the inhabitants have a rather relaxed attitude to cleanliness routines and personal hygiene. The proprietress is named as a Mrs E.Cloutier, and her establishment offers "opening hours for gentlemen, 6:00am - 9:00pm, except for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings 6:00am - 12:00 noon, when the facilities are strictly ladies-only. It is clear mixed bathing is not just frowned upon , it is scowled upon, snarled upon and very loudly shouted at.

Other bath-house facilities in the city - and surprisingly, there are more than one - include Mrs Loomsup's Hot Tub and Soak Parlour, on Brown Stairs, just off Hole and Corner Street. This is nearby to The Hippo, in between Quarry Lane and Whopping Street.
