A young city dwarf with family in Tallow Lane. He is an excellent player of Thud and a visitor to the club at Pointer & Pickles. Mr. Shine gave him a troll club for winning five games in a row, which he values very highly. He is also interested in the battle of Koom Valley and bought a copy of the Koom Valley Codex. While going into the mountains to find himself, he becomes apprentice to the Grag Ardent and follows him back to Ankh-Morpork. He becomes increasingly uncomfortable with the activities of the Grags there and eventually is overcome by his fear of the Summoning Dark. In the end, he dies of a heart attack from a combination of sheer terror and his guilt over the role he took in the Grags' actions.
