Juliet's lack of fluency in Quirmian with faux pas - there's a beautiful "blooper" clip from British childrens' TV that does the rounds on out-takes shows, which involved a positively angelic child who was invited to tell the watching world what delights would be theirs, if they stayed tuned after the commercial break.
Given a cue-card to read it off, the child unerringly and unhesitatingly informed the public that after the break, we'll be going to roving reporter Quentin in Johannesburg by satellite link, where he would be looking closely at the Grand Pricks of South Africa.
"I'm sure that should read Grand Prix ", the presenter helpfully prompted, emphasising the French pronunciation.
The child looked at the card again, and shook her head.
"No, it says here "grand pricks", clear as anything!"

Glenda's name alludes to Glenda the Good Witch in the Land of Oz. Like the country witches of Discworld, Glenda Sugarbean takes care of the elderly and ill, advises the ignorant, and will go against local and foreign rulers to support what she sees as the right thing to do.
