Enid

Mrs Enid is the senior washerwoman at Kneck citadel. She accepts the Detail as female recruits willing to work in the laundry, and does not give them away: she confides she is only working for the hated enemy so as to keep an eye on her son, who is a prisoner-of-war there. She is delighted to have a magnificent little worker like Daphne, who really understands womens' clothes and how to keep them in good order.
