The surface of the cube is described as an ancient and discoloured bronze like metal rather than stone. The word Device is properly spelt with a capital D like Earth to distinguish it from the more mundane variety.--Teletran 08:33, 27 January 2007 (CET)
- Interestingly CuBe is the chemical name of a copper alloy; Cu=copper Bu=beryllium. I wonder if Pratchett knew this? I'm also wondering if the Devices are partialy based on the Rubik's Cube.--Teletran 10:27, 27 January 2007 (CET)
