The author likes a bit of wordplay. It set me to thinking about the phrase "Sender of Eight". First, what do you send? Mail. Mail of Eight. Next what about "eight"? Said with a British accent eight sounds like hate. Mail of hate. Bel-Shamharoth is the representation of pure evil, and what is more evil to an author then hate mail?
Ichor (according to various Greek myth books) is the blood of gods. Is that some reference that I don't get or not?
- Also, "pathology: a foul-smelling watery discharge from a wound or ulcer." See also: festering, purulence, pus, sanies, suppuration. --Old Dickens 00:42, 3 October 2011 (CEST)
If it is a reference then I don't get it either.--Confusion 02:49, 16 October 2011 (CEST)
