Mistress Pullunder is a witch, who breeds pedigree earthworms. Well, everyone has to have a hobby. Like many people of a New Age disposition, she has wind chimes hanging around her cottage and garden. As she is a witch, she has tuned the wind chimes to a scale that causes demons to experience sensations that range from merely "uncomfortable" to physically painful.
When Eumenides Treason died, Mistress Pullunder was among the conclave of senior witches was debating which of the novices was advanced enough in Craft to be given the status of fully-fledged Witch, and therefore inherit the steading. Along with Miss Level, Mistress Pullunder was one of the witches who supported Granny Weatherwax in arguing that Tiffany Aching was the best of the trainees.
