The name
The biblical Tubal was a grandson of Noah by his eldest son Japheph. Although the Bible doesn't specifically say so, the scale of the Ark project and the timescale involved in building it suggests the crew was a lot more than eight. Noah, his three sons (there is a mysterious fourth in the extra-biblical tradition), and their wives, only make eight. Each of those sons is reputed to have had at least eight sons of his own: so if the grandsons of Noah also had tickets, together with their wives and possibly children, the crew of the Ark becomes more realistic, given all the jobs they had to do.
I'm wondering how this ties in with dragons, though... was the biblical Tubal responsible for Large fire-Breathing Reptiles On Board A Wooden Boat? --AgProv 14:45, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
