The main gate into the city from the drovers' trail, leading directly to the Cattle Market via Pigsty Hill. One of Moist von Lipwig's useful pubs, the Butcher's Eagle, is in this area. Apparently, according to The revised and expanded city map contained in The Compleat Ankh-Morpork, (which has a handy little panel illustrating how all roads lead to Ankh-Morpork, even if you happen to be leaving the city and walking in the opposite direction), this is the road to Chirm. Logically, if this is the drovers' gate and access to the cattlemarkets and slaughterhouses, animals driven from the Chalk country by such as Seth Petty would arrive at this gate. So this is also the road to the Chalk?
