Who's more Hollywood than Elves? They're pure superficial glamor. A thought. The elemental spirit of deep winter - the Wintersmith - is male. His counterpart, the Summer Lady, is female. In their own realms, the elf-King inhabits a world of searing, baking, heat. The Elf-Queen inhabits a world of intense chilling winter cold. This reverses the genders of Wintersmith and Summer Lady. Another pointer to their being alien and hostile? And I wonder.... what if the Elf-Queen's next game might involve seducing the Wintersmith and taking him out of the Discworld to her plane of reality.... how might that affect the balance? Or perhaps these are true Elves, so seduced by the glamour of Moving Pictures that they are temporarily laying aside all that torture and mind-control stuff for a greater enchantment...--AgProv 00:54, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
