Good morning k-t-jones! I'll have to go back to {{WA}} and check, but I'm sure, when Greebo in his human form is on the doorstep attempting to gain admission to the ball, the private inner dialogue on the part of the footman checking his credentials is along the lines of how uncultured this Compte di Gribeaux feller is, and if he ever got an invitiation with "RSVP" on it, he'd be the sort of bugger who'd think it came from a mr Reservup... I think Nanny Ogg makes this error elsewhere in the books (possibly {{LL}}?)

Also turning over possible annotations... "Samedi Nuit" - Saturday Night - all those pop culture referents to songs, eg about "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" (Elton John), appropriate here as it all ends up in a showdown between Witches... or Saturday Night's general place in the pop music canon as a time for dancing, drinking, loving, letting your hair down... but nothing concrete emerges, and in the past I have taken the point that some things can be too nebulous, acidental, distantly linked, et c, to count as Annotations...--[[User:AgProv|AgProv]] 11:02, 25 July 2007 (CEST)

I'm pretty sure it was "Masque" for "Masquerade Ball", and the footman wonders if Greebo thought it came from someone named "Maskew". "Samedi Nuit Mort" would be "Saturday Night Dead", so I'm guessing it parodies "Saturday Night Live"-- that's what I put on the {{WA}} page + I think even the APF mentions that one?
