found something. Apparently - there's a forum talk thread about this on another site - a wizard called Hector Tugelbend exists in the TELEVISION ADAPTATION of {{TLF}}. He is not named in the original book - no wonder I thought an error had been made. <br />

It's important to say that apparently there is a scene in the TV version where the usurper Trymon is poring over a book, to a page open to the names of the heads of the Eight Orders. Freeze-frame here and read it at your leisure, and Hector Tugelbend now has a Discworld existance as a seventh or eighth level Mage in charge of this Order. But... the jury is still out as to whether he's Victor's uncle. <br />
