Wherever in the multiverse someone develops a system of showing moving pictures, there will arise certain inescapable results, such as Incredibly Clever And Resourceful Dogs Who Save The Day. &#039;&#039;&#039;Laddie&#039;&#039;&#039; is a Discworld Mickey-Appropriation of the [[Roundworld]] equivalent, [[wikipedia:Lassie|Lassie]], and her contemporary canine stars. (Lassie on film and tv was always played by a Laddie.) Bought by the nephew of [[Thomas Silverfish]] to star in [[Moving Pictures]] in [[Holy Wood]], Laddie is befriended by [[Gaspode]] &#039;&#039;the wonder dog&#039;&#039; (who also stars in many other books) and - while being completely canine, and therefore thick - helps Gaspode to save the day.
