Cutwell becomes uncomfortably aware of a distinct ''warmth'' permeating his lower body, which intensifies to such a degree that he has to flee into the street and leap, fully clothed, into a frozen-over horsetrough. Which then begins to steam...

It is interesting that even at the time of {{M}}, Granny Weatherwax's preparations are to be found a long way away from the Ramtops. In the manner of a semi-barter economy, perhaps these are traded far and wide in exchange for the little things that cannot be got in [[Lancre]], such as the intricate pieces of blown glass tubing needed for the more complex distillations. In fact, a discourse in {{ER}} between Granny and [[Hilta Goatfounder]], the resident witch in [[Ohulan Cutash]], suggests this is ''exactly'' the case: Granny admits to a certain proficiency in making up these little things which ease the path of married life, backed up by [[Esk]], who adds that Mr [[Herepath]] the glassblower can't be blowing much glass, judging by what she has overheard Mrs Herepath say to Granny.

Granny, who in her own words is in the position of a blacksmith who can shoe horses, diagnose their diseases and treat their ailments, and who has the secret of the Mystic [[The Horseman's Word|Horseman's Word]] - but only has the sketchiest knowledge as to how you go about riding one - might have written on the label in smaller letters something like ''Onne Spoonfull onlie before Bedde, and that small. Be sure to wear loose clothing, also that no Visitors are expectedde''. Not that Cutwell read the small print, of course...
