A vast sentient creature dwelling in deep interstellar space that has evolved the ability to travel in hyperspace.

As anything it temporarily engulfs will also travel in hyperspace with its sun-dog host, various space-going races have developed a symbiotic relationship with the sun-dogs. The sun-dogs are effectively an interstellar taxi service, who will convey a spacecraft anywhere, in return for a cash credit, with the added advantage of minimal chatter along the lines of ''I had that Erich von Daniken in the back of the cab once'' or ''south of the Horsehead Nebula at this sidereal time of night? You've got to be joking, guv'nor!"

They are so different that under the Humanity act they are so far unclassified. They evolved on the planet of [[Eggplant]] but currently live on [[Band]] where they lay their eggs.
